WELCOME TO THE K.E.N.O.S.I.S. PROJECT!
"Healing the secret wounds and silent cries that lie deep within the hearts of our youth which have been left unresolved."
PROGRAMS
Each one, Reach one, Teach one, Release one is our vision.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Allows our youth and young adults to gain insight on the basic concepts and characteristics of a leader.
Both leaders and young adults will collaborate with pertinent thoughts and ideas designed to help various marginalized segments of our society.
Leadership training will bring resources from a variety of professionals who are specialized in organizing, guiding, directing and most importantly following.
The most important characteristic of a good leader is his ability
to follow. We encourage the hidden leader in each individual to develop his ability to lead through basic principles and exercises.
The group process will be incorporated to experience the exchange of thoughts, concepts, risks and gains of becoming a successful leader.
INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL GROUP COUNSELING.
Individual Counseling: a process in which clients work one-to-one with a trained psychiatrist or counselor in a safe, caring & confidential environment. Discussion usually involves one or more topics which are initiated by the client that are often of a major concern of the client. The purpose of the discussion is to provide some clarity and insight regarding that particular topic.
Small Group Counseling: a process where we provide assistance for clients to improve their skills in the areas of academic & career development working with other clients of a similar age group.
This kind of group usually provides a built in strategy to help individuals become more successful in their areas of choice. Furthermore, it often provides an insight and clarity which may otherwise not be possible through an individual consultation.
INTERACTIVE/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
This presents an opportunity for our mentee’s to understand the importance of giving back to others through various acts of service. This teaches how contributing to the welfare of others will not only provide assistance to other individuals but will exemplify the concept of the power of giving. How it affects those directly receiving the benefit of the gift, those observing the action as well as those conducting the service. It is our objective to allow this act of service to have a profound effect on the character of the mentee involved.
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
ABOUT
Our Project:
Our goal is to assist the youth we encounter in the transformation from young adult to mature adult, as developed by the definitions of what manhood or womanhood is. This individual is defined with the character traits of a design as they apply to integrity, character, and virtue. These values are founded on the precepts of communal and personal responsibility. In addition, we recognize and uphold the unique personality of each individual, their dreams or goals.
(KENOSIS is comprised of several retired State of California Correctional Counselors & Administrators with a total of over 200 years of experience collectively)
OUR VISION:
Each one, Reach one, Teach one, Release one.
Each mentor will build trust, communication and Respect.
Reach by nurturing and cultivating a relationship for positive growth.
Teach relevant methods for raising the standards in every young man/woman.
Release youth capable to teach the concepts learned, and impact others, thus multiplying the process.
“If you canʼt reach them, you canʼt teach them.”
OUR MISSION
We connect with young men/women to assist them in healing the pain that has hurt their hearts and caused them to disconnect from their families, school, society or life. We educate them with the life skills necessary to develop young men/women of courage and confidence, thus empowering them to positively impact their families, communities and the world.
